On January 13-2010 I got up on my High Horse about this whole Proroguing thing and joined the Facebook campaign

I thought I'd post it here for posterity.

In the bigger picture, I'm not so concerned about the individual issues. Health and social services may always be underfunded. There will always be wars and natural disasters. World trade may always be contentious. Politicians and heads of industry will always produce some unethical power hungry cheaters and pirates.

BUT
Our Prime Minister must always be answerable to the rest of us. We put our lives and futures in his hands. We must be able to see how he is fairly representing our best interests . . .and right now we can't!

From his first months in power and through to this recent prorogation, the sense has always been that he is hiding, avoiding, manipulating and circumventing the Government that gave him the leadership in the first place.

Because he and his ministers will not talk to us, we have the fear that he is leading our country astray. We fear his approach on recreating us as a warring, rather than a peace keeping nation. We fear his conservative views may damage the future of our health care. We fear that his emphasis on the primacy of business and international trade over the ecology of our globe may contribute to the end of our civilisation!

We know that politics has become a killer profession. Political idealists, other politicians and all the new media can deconstruct and twist anything a political leader might say. That is not a good reason to block communication and make all decisions without consultation and behind closed doors.

Mr. Prime Minister, please reconvene our Parliament. Please stop acting in such an autocratic and despotic manner. Please distribute some of your power back to your minions, allowing them a bit of self-respect and convert them back into real ministers of parliamentry duties.

We are Canadians for Heaven sakes. We talk to one another we don't dictate . . leave the dictating to places like North Korea or China and begin again to model true democracy to our neighbours and the world.

Well guys and Gals . . it's cold and there's 3 foot snow banks on the edge of the driveway. I've spent more time blowing snow than working on my web business . . . but Hey! . . Christmas is here and I'm going to take a bit of time off. Have a Merry Christmas and New Year, keep your children safe!
I'll check in during the holidays as time allows. I wish you success in the New Year
